And with that donation, we’ve hit 17.1 liters of blood donated, as well as hitting last year’s record of 17 L.
Prizes Needed for Seeds of Kindness 2: Faithful and Strong
Hello everyone,
Thanks to the contributions of so many musicians and artists and to the generosity of you all, Seeds of Kindness has managed to raise over €37,000 ($47,000) and fully fund three Your Siblings projects: a clinic in Uganda, the Green Village for street children in Burundi and the expansion of an orphanage in Tanzania.
Following this success, dozens of musicians from the pony fan community over at My Little Remix are now close to the completion of another charity album, Faithful and Strong. All proceeds will go towards funding the Safe Project in Uganda, an HIV-stricken country where more than 2.3 million children are orphaned due to AIDS. By expanding the orphanage and building a chicken farm to guarantee its long-term sustainability, this project will provide to this lost generation care and education and guarantee them a brighter future.
To help support this cause, we are looking for gifts and prizes to be offered to the top donors, such as custom figurines, plushies, paintings, commissions for any of these, or electronic items such as games. With the previous iteration of Seeds of Kindness, the sum of all donations from the ten prize winners added up to as much as €9,800 thanks to these generous contributions! If you would like to offer such items, please contact us at broniesforgood@gmail.com.
Thank you all so much once again for your amazing ongoing support,
Bronies for Good

Nurse Red Heart’s Round-Up Addendum: Platelets and some clarifications.
Hey Everyone! We just wanted to make a quick follow up post to some initial feedback that we’ve had in Nurse RedHeart’s Round Up, so have this awesome art of Nurse herself and be sure check out the information below!
We’ve recently had a great question brought up, “Would donating platelets count towards the drive?” And the answer is, absolutely yes!
Donating Platelets (Or White Blood Cells), is type of blood donation that only extracts one part of the blood you donate. When you donate normally, you give what is known as “whole” blood, (both your various blood cells and plasma) which is what is used in blood transfusions or other necessary procedures. However, when you donate platelets, your blood is drawn through a needle to a centrifuge that separates the Platelets from your “whole blood”. the remaining blood product is the returned to your body through another needle connected to your other arm.
Like how you regularly donate blood, You also must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Before you donate, you also need to be in good health to ensure the maximum amount of white blood cells.
So instead of counting this a normal unit-based donation within the drive, we ask that you specify that you donated platelet’s on your post to Bronies for the Better (MODEDIT: Hey that’s us!) so that we can start of a separate tally of that as well.
Now for a few responses to other common questions we’ve been getting:
”Can I still be a part of the raffle if I am in Europe?”
Yes, you are also eligible for the raffle. Just be sure to follow the instructions on posting, and you shall be counted into the raffle!
“Will enlisting and working as a blood drive or site volunteer during the span of the NHH event make you eligible for the raffle?”
Yes, but you will need to show us some sort of proof of this, such as a registration confirmation, or an account of your volunteering experience from a verifiable blood drive initiative in your community.
“Can I make multiple entries into the raffle if I donate and volunteer at a blood drive event in my community?”
No, even if you do both, we will only be allowing one entry into the raffle per person.
That’s it for now everyone. Be sure to donate if you can and as always, take care!
Love and Solidarity,
Bronies for Good.
Bronies For Good Announces Nurse RedHeart’s Round-Up Reboot. And we’re collaborating with them.
It’s a combination of a charity raffle and a blood drive. It was a big sucess last year, and seeing as there’s been a lot of enthusiasm for it, they’ve decided to make it an annual thing. And so, here we are: The second community-wide blood drive.
But here’s the thing: We’re working with them on this. People will be submitting their ‘proof of purchase’ per-say to this very tumblr. Not only so Bronies For Good can verify and enter them, but in the process we get a neat little wall of people who have done good.
So let’s get to it!
Hey guys.
In case you haven’t heard, Andrea Libman’s signed art piece at the Everfree charity auction raised $2,000 alone for Seattle Children’s.

There will be some awesome prizes! Who knows… maybe even ‘Snuggle Truck’! So, be there— and, if you can’t be there, try to toss a few bits PfO’s way!
This was just up on the ‘Bronies’ facebook page. I’d check it out if I were you.

GOOD CAUSE ALERT: Help Levi Gammons get the support he needs

We’re not just about good things the community has done in the past or are currently doing. We also want to shine the spotlight on (and maybe one day even create) opportunities for people to do good going forward.
Of course, there’s a whole world out there, so obviously this includes causes that have nothing to do with multicolored equines, any person or group of people in the community, or whatever’s on Tara Strong’s mind. This is one of those things.
Levi Gammons, a man who was arrested last year for the so-called “crime” of being transgender. The main concern this cause is focusing on: Due to being trans his re-entry programs are very limited where he lives. He is not legally allowed to enter the men’s or women’s programs, simply for being transgender. He’ll be released with no house or money. He’ll have, as he wrote, just the clothes on his back.
So where do you come in? We’ll, here’s a bit from their page, under “How You Can Help”:
This is why Wyatt and Sarah Jenny are coming to you — to our community — which is also Levi’s community to —- to ask for your support. Levi put every penny into his move and with his parents long passed and no siblings, he literally has no support system without us. We ask that you be in solidarity with Levi and show him that he has a community to come home to when he gets out.
- Donate whatever you can today. Then re-post it to your Facebook, Twitter, and email it to ten friends.
- If you can’t afford to contribute, share it far and wide and ask others do the same and contribute if they can.
- Even $1 can help. If each person on our combined facebook friends donated $1 we would already be at $4556. Imagine if each donated $2!
- If you know of transitional housing opportunities or work opportunities for Levi, he has a masters degree in counseling and is very interested in getting involved in trans activism. He is in need of immediate housing starting on September 23rd. He would also ideally like to live by the ocean.
